Pros & Cons of Interviewing/Taking a job at this restaurant.

Whether or not I should take the job.
1. I get to move to NYC, which would be exciting and the kind of change I need right now.
2. Adam would most likely go with me.
3. I would be working within the Daniel Boulud restaurant umbrella.
4. This job could-possibly- lead to a job at Daniel.
5. I have enough saved that I could afford to use some of my savings even though I would be working for very little money.
6. I have a few friends in New York.
7. The desserts at the place look pretty fancy for a casual place, it would he an easy place for me to start learning.
8. Going to NYC for the interview could be fun. I could end up really loving or hating the place. I just dont really want to put in the effort at the moment.
9. The Restaurant is very trendy right now.
10. I want to move out of my house.
11. I could sell my car. I would be healthier from the walking I would be doing.
12. New york can be amazing.
13. My mother would really want me to do it, even if it meant spending my savings and the money from her life insurance.
14. I'd potentially be closer to my grandfather.
15. I dont have any other job offers right now, this could be the only one.
1. I have to move to NYC which costs a lot of money
2. Adam and I haven't officially lived together yet, I would be alone for at least a few months. Moving to a new city together could put a lot of strain on us.
3. I would be making very very little money
4. I would have to use up a lot of my savings, which could be put towards paying off student loans.
5. The job may not actually offer me a chance at Daniel later. If it doesn't, since it isn't fine dining it may not get me very far. But it is a Boulud restaurant. It a real gamble, and an expensive one.
6. Reviews of the restaurant are iffy. Though this has more to do with the service, price, and atmosphere. Though it is trendy right now, trends die fast and I don't think it has the great reviews a place needs to stay alive. I could be out of a job before I
7. Even if it did offer me a chance to move up or into Daniel, I would be making very little for a long time. Making nothing at Daniel is one thing, making nothing at this place is another.
8. I can probably learn similar skills if not more, and make more money, in Boston or at other restaurants.
9. If I don't move out of Boston I can save money.
10. Long hours, probably a long commute on the subway, and very tired legs and feet. Walking around in winter sounds awful.
11. Bad NYC air.
12. I don't know much about where to live, or what I can realistically afford. New York can be scary and bad. I could find myself feeling really lonely.
13. I don't feel like my heart is really in this anymore, though that could just be disappointment from not having a chance at Daniel. I could love the place when I get there.
14. If they don't hire me it will be a waste of time and I will feel cruhed again. If they do I might still have to turn down the job.
