Pros & Cons of Buying a Second Monitor

I'm thinking of buying a second screen for my computer, my computer is powerful enough to handle it. I'm considering ~24"
1. Provides more screen real-estate.
2. Better for School research
3. Better for Multitasking
1. Have a 19" TV (Primary Monitor)
2. Takes more desk space
3. Expensive!
4. Money could go towards something better (Laptop or University)
5. Games would only show up on one
6. TV would become secondary
